1979 Beno’s Toy Catalog- Kenner Star Wars- Star Bird

I had never heard of this California-based chain of Toy Stores called “Beno’s” before but judging by this glorious catalog, they offered the best-selling toys of 1979 including of course, the Kenner Star Wars line, this beautiful time capsule is a joy to behold.

40 years later, those six-car Hot Wheel sets are still priced at $6.99. I know zinc alloy is cheap and easy to cast, but Hot Wheels has been able to maintain such low prices. Individual Hot Wheels are $1.49 at the small, over-priced boutique grocery store near me.

Great Catalogue, fabulous toys and games. I was lucky enough to pick up a 99.9% complete original Mastermind here in the UK for £1.50 not so long ago. Ebay helped fill in the missing pieces, and now it is such a prized relic of great times as a kid.

Awesome. So many memories. Me and my bro had a few of these toys, and I remember friends and relatives having a lot of them too. What a time to be a kid! Thanks for posting this.
