Kenner Stretch X-Ray Store Display (sponsored link)–
What is there to be said about a lenticular toy store display from the 1970s that isn’t apparent just by looking at it?
Buck Rogers Sleeping Bag (sponsored link)
Buck Rogers had two things, a killer poster and a very hard working licensing agent. Seriously, for a brief time, Gil Gerard was reaching “Garfield” levels at retail.
Eerie Magazine t shirt- (sponsored link)
I remember seeing these in the back of Warren magazines; I’ve always loved this shirt style and not to mention this gorgeous artwork. I just wish that someday, a used pair of Warren’s “Other” clothing line surfaces.
McDonalds puppet of Captain Crook (sponsored link)
I believe this isn’t a retail product but an actual item that McDonald’s employees used to have puppet shows at birthday parties. I only recently found out about this on social media, but I have no idea where that was because it’s just a conveyer belt of information. Let me say this, the Hamburglar puppet I saw in that post needs to come home with me. I’m just not complete anymore without him………
Super Hero Weebles (sponsored link)
I vaguely recall a TV commercial for this, probably shown during “Uncle Croc’s Block,” which also seems like a fever dream. I was smitten with the idea of transforming someone into a superhero, so I asked my parents for this. My parents were firmly Fisher Price people; this was out of the question. Somehow, this rejection did not inspire adult me to devote my life to Weeble collecting like it did when I wanted some Mego Fantastic Four figures from Heroes’ World.
