Arco “V” bop bag (sponsored link) —
When you’ve been collecting for a while, there are certain collectibles that you’ve wanted, but at one point, were so cheap and plentiful, you figured you’d get to them. Then, when you circle back, they’re “Rare” and “Hot right now,” and even though you understand the supply and demand aspect of the hobby, somehow you can’t get past the bias of “those used to be everywhere!” Yeah, this thing. I’ve always wanted it but I’d see them everywhere in the 90s, which seemed closer than it is…..
1980s Frankenstein Iron-On shirt (sponsored link) —
My friend Courtney sent me this, and zooming on the image, I could smell this thing hot off the press. That tiny magical flashback warrants inclusion but also it’s Frankenstein, Universal Monsters and has glitter, fun!
FunStuf Captain America Shield Shooter (sponsored link) —
This toy is just a “label slap” on the Spider-Man Web-shooter toy that FunStuff also had success with. I wanted this so bad as a kid thanks to Heroes World. What always bugger me was that I couldn’t buy Cap’s shield, even Remco didn’t do one….
Star Trek Sleeping Bag (sponsored link) —
It’s late as I type this, but I’m positive that “Slip inside my Star Trek Sleeping Bag!” is the line that will guarantee a lifetime of virginity. Use it wisely…
Doc Savage Movie Puzzle featuring Ron Ely (sponsored link)—
Those who know this site likely may understand how unapologetically I love this movie. It didn’t get a lot of merch, so when I found this in a variety store in Port Perry, I had to have it. This purchase perplexed my son, he couldn’t understand why I’d want a puzzle of a shirtless guy with a “creepy stare” (his words, not mine.) This became a running gag of making sure it was out in the open when he had friends over or just randomly leaving it in the hall outside his room. I should sneak it into his apartment….
