1974 Chemtoy Catalog

1974 Chemtoy Catalog

Chemtoy was one of America’s premiere producer of lower cost novelties and Rack Toys during the 60s and 70s.

Their offering for 1974 was a fun mix of generic staples like bubbles, paddle balls, toy guns that you can still find to this day.

On the licensing side they had everything from Batman to the Groovie Goolies, it’s good group of old friends.

I love how it mentions the "Menagerie of Realistic 'Fun' Creatures". Like, they're kind of fun, but not really.

Holy crap! I'm sure it wasn't licensed, but Bushman was a famous gorilla at the Lincoln Park Zoo here in Chicago. He's even climbing the Hancock building on the card.

I ended up with a ton of the toys as a kid. My Grandmother was a schoolteacher and every summer I'd end up with all manner of yo-yo's, bubbles, rubber bugs and cap guns she confiscated during the school year.
