Toy-Ventures 10: Slade Super Agent from Shindana Toys

This week’s installment of Toy Ventures is all about one of the coolest action figures of the 1970s, Slade: Super Agent by Shindana.

We talk about Slade but also a little bit about the company that was Shindana toys and how they changed the landscape for the better.

Hi Brian, love the podcast and the site. Question: as a Canadian do you still use the the term "Black" in this day and age? Are there African-Canadians? I'm a seventies-era American white guy/kid and I don't think we can use that term anymore:). I love that Slade was made to appeal to that market and kids could see themselves reflected in a positive toy. These days everything is so PC that we can't use the term "Black" even though it was a positive term in the '70's.

Mr. Anonymous is being pretty passive aggressively ridiculous.

Anyhow… great video, B! Slade was one of the all-time greats. Love to get one, but they are way out my range. I can dream though.
