After the demise of the Super Adventure Team, Hasbro regrouped and turned G.I. Joe into Super Joe, an 8″ Mego sized Space Warrior. Super Joe lost the space war in 1978, interestingly at a time when the public’s interest in science fiction was at a new high.

Wow, so the whole GI Joe in space BS actually happened before, in the 1970s? And I thought it was only with the 80s version…
Everything old is new again, as they say.
I can tell you why they didn’t work, nor any “Action Figure” taller than four inches from this time on. I remember it myself. They were the same size as Barbie dolls! They might look cool and be men dolls with guns, but they were STILL dolls. It just wasn’t cool! 🙂
