The Kenner Empire

The Kenner Empire

It was around this time as a kid that I realized that I could never, ever “Collect Them All” when it came to Star Wars. Not that I had everything made leading up to this point but there was probably some child like naivete that I could catch up somehow.

Fortunately for me, I was close friends with a kid who GOT EVERYTHING and while he wasn’t always a joy to be around, my goodness his basement was a wonderland!

I loved this thing and the way it "blew up", especially the little details like the footprints in the snow.

I remember finding a $20 bill on the ground when I was 8. I bought the Imperial Attack Base with it!

I got my Imperial Attack Base around 1980 or 1981, and it's still in near perfect condition. I wish I could say the same for my Princess Leia figure, whose head I had to glue back on after a neighbor decapitated her.
