Growing up I knew who Bozo and Mrs Beasley were but I can honestly remember having no clue what a Flip Wilson was when I saw one of his gender bending dolls on clearance.
I had to ask my Mom, who smiled and said “Oh he was funny!” which really didn’t answer the question….

I had a friend who had the Flip Wilson doll. It was kinda creepy, like a woman was growing out of his back. Devil made me do it, indeed!
No clue about the Flip doll, odd tie-in. But my wife had a Mrs. Beasley doll as a kid, and I got her a new one after we were married. She still loves it. 🙂
