AHI Superfriends Buggy

After almost three decades of toy collecting, not many vintage toy sightings make me want to wet my pants. This past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of almost losing control several times, first with the Tomland Monsters and then followed up by this, the AHI Superfriends car in glorious detail. My friend Mark from Heroes […]

1980 Knickbocker Superheroes Catalog

Knickerbocker was always known for plush novelties but in the late 70s, they decided to enlist some heavy hitters, in the form of the hottest TV and movie superstars like the Incredible Hulk and Mr. Spock. Knickerbocker chose some of the more popular TV and movie characters to captilize on for some interesting plush toys […]

Aquaman’s Death Defying Stunt

To the Web Copter?

Here we have one of the last uses of the AHI Helicopter molds (which had been used for Planet of the Apes, Batman, SWAT even the Hulk!) in the mid 1980s AHI/Remco snapped up the rights to the Archie Red Circle comics heroes such as “The Web” here, the result were some pretty middling, kinda chubby, […]

Heroic Apparel

While the Spider-Man Ski mask might go down as coolest bit of hero merchandising ever, I can’t imagine there was a child alive that was excited about the Hulk suspenders, you can’t put perfume on the pig that is wearing suspenders as a child.  I’m also honestly surprised there is no Spider-Man bow tie.

Heroic Flash Lights

Superheroes and flash lights are a cocktail that Rack Toy manufacturers know how to make. Although I really don’t think the Duke Boys count as “Superheroes”…
