LJN The Rookies Casual Outfits Set- 70s Fashion Gold!

LJN The Rookies Casual Outfits Set- 70s Fashion Gold!

As a follow up to the YouTube Short I did (see above) , I thought I would post some photos of this fun set. Exclusively sold in the 1975 Montgomery Ward’s catalog, this was one of two casual outfit packs for the LJN “The Rookies” action figures. I’ve never seen a single episode of the Rookies but I am a fan of the Mego format and 70s Fashion. These outfits are incredible 70s Fashion Gold.

Above is the original Wards Catalog advert for the outfit sets from 1975. They were not offered again in 1976.

First of all the BOX ART IS FIRE and I love the multiple Danny Trejo cameos but let’s look at Dirk Diggler’s wardrobe:

This is listed as the Camping Outfit but it’s a lovely orange.

This Safari jacket was the reason I bought this, it just has “Mr. Mentor” energy and I want to eventually put this into the Lincoln Monsters, I just haven’t figured out how.

This set is called “Denim” on the box but it’s actually from a the other set, this one has a beanie and some wicked Orange pants.

And finally, this corduroy jacket is so Brick Mantooth that it’s tasking me to take this off the card.
