Prehistoric RC
My pal George at the Mego Forum turned me onto these cool toys from 1973, these two dinoaurs seem to be exclusive to Sears. What a no brainer, light up remote controlled dinosaurs. Like probably every boy (and likely a bunch of girls), I went through a dinosaur phase in my life and these would have been high on my wishlist had I seen them.

Russ from Toytraderz.com sent me a pile of coolness that I’ll be showcasing all this week, the first is this superbad Bigfoot costume. Much like Gavin MacLoed, Bigfoot attained a certain celebrity status in the 1970’s, he was everywhere for a while.
I actually had both those dinosaurs when I was a kid, and am pretty sure I still do sitting in storage at my parents house (though most likely not in working order). They were really cool, and I had a lot of fun with them.
These were pretty popular with me and my friends.I recall them being available at the Grant's City Outlet in my hometown of Hammonton NJ.They came in a window box with the 2 dinos facing each other with some trees and a volcano on the package.Rex was green,Trike was brown. And yes, although the motors didn't last too long, we all just cut off the wire and used them as "inactive" action figures!
I can't believe i've actually found evidence these existed at last! These somehow made it to the U.K. as I had them as a kid in the '70's.I remember one was more powerful than the other and they came in a nice big window fronted box. Many great battles were had, awesome.
I want, no Need, to have one of these again ! I only remember having the triceratops, but would love to get my hands on one or the other or both! They are hard to search for because no one knows what to call them (as in, manufacturer, brand, etc)
John R. if you want to part with one of yours, let me know. I don't care if it works or not… heck I think the one I had as a kid only worked for a short time anyway !
These things were so simple, but so much fun !
