5 Awesome Sci-Fi Things on eBay this week

These links are sponsored and eBay requires me to tell you that. If you click on all of them, then I get one a “grit magazine” level prize. They make me say all of this.
Interchangables CEDM (Sponsored Link)
After Mego closed down, Marty and Howie Abrams launched “Hour Toy” and used the Micronauts toy molds to create “the Interchangables” which were funky Micronauts for lack of a better world.
Interchangables is an 80s toy line that haunted me like Bugmen of Insecta or the Mini Godaikin. When they opened, they stormed my local TRU, sat there for a decade, and then disappeared. I actually ran into some at a Toys R Us in 2004. Now, I kind of want to collect them but never see them. Ever. Where the heck did they all go?
AHI Space:1999 Stun Water Gun (Sponsored Link)
This squirt gun was one of my favourite toys of childhood. Say what you will of me, but I identify with Martin Landau. I could whip this out of my pocket accompanied by that high-pitched second-season whistle like a pro. BTW the oddball colours are rare with AHI stuff, I have a powder blue phaser that looks like a Mego phaser. I’ve heard it referred to as “Test Plastic,’ but I think it’s just the factory dealing with some runoff.
AHI Mr Spock Bop Bag (Sponsored Link)
This item, and I mean this VERY ITEM, is the subject of the first Toy-Ventures Magazine correction. When we did our AHI salute in issue 1, we missed this, the first version made for the AHI pool toy side. It’s larger, has different artwork, and so necessary; I mean, who doesn’t want to smack the smug off Nimoy’s face?
Vintage Child’s StarCrash T-Shirt (Sponsored Link)
I am shocked to find out that the classic Star Wars rip-off “Star Crash” got merchandise. I mean, I expect action figures, but finding out Stella Star graces a series of children’s shirts in the 1970s is kind of mind-blowing. Like I feel I’m in another reality right now. People don’t ride blimps here do they?
Dr. Who and the Daleks VHS poster (sponsored eBay Link) —
I had this poster and I just recently found out, it is no longer in my possession. That bothers me, not because it’s gorgeous (although that isn’t lost on me) but moreover because of where I got it.
This was the mid-1980s in nowhere Ontario, and I found a Dr. Who poster for fifty cents in a video store that likely closed 3 months later in downtown Whitby. That meant the world to me then, that there were bigger things out there. Also, I got to call the other members of my meager “Elitingville Club” and taunt them with my good fortune. Good times!

😀
David Hasselhoff, I think, starred in Starcrash, but I think he’s embarrassed that he was in it.
I don’t see why.
I really like the film.
Sure, the scenery + costumes were low budget, but- the cast + crew did a great job with it. 🙂 😀
