Muppet Show set by Fisher Price Toys (sponsored link)
In Star Wars terms, this is the Luke, Leia, Chewy and um….Chewy we all required to start our muppet verse. Ok it’s a flawed allegory, I’ll admit it.
1970s Star Trek Mr Spock Necklace (sponsored link) —
The seller has a bunch of these, so if this is sold out check out the listings. Can’t get over the card art of the piece itself. The early 70s Trek boom was a wild time…
Paul Naschy El Hombre Lobo Novel (sponsored link) —
There is not much vintage merchandise for Paul Naschy’s “El Hombre Lobo” series of films, aside from posters and promotional materials. One fun exception is this paperback book, adapting the classic “The Werewolf vs. the Vampire Woman.” The book has a certain “bus station paperback” whiff about it and as a (proud) owner, it’s terribly written!
The author’s name is, of course, a pen name for someone notorious for writing novels of poor quality.
I posted this mainly because of the backstory. I don’t know the value of this book these days TBH.
King Kong Drinking Straw by Mego (sponsored link) —
In the latest episode of Pod Stallions, I couldn’t remember if this was real or ever got made. Turns out it was real, Mego pitched a bunch of these things that didn’t make it to the market place , weird licenses too.
Lunar Landscape with Mego figures on the box (sponsored link) —
I’ve had this “make your own Playset” item on my watch list for a long time. Sure, it’s an unlicensed toy but that mash up of Mego Buck Rogers and Black Hole combined with a Space:1999 Hawk? It’s almost too much for me to bear….
Pod Stallions Facebook Group: It’s a cool treehouse filled with grown-ups.
