5 Awesome Things on eBay this week- Marvel Superheroes, Samurai Ninjas, Ghost Lights, Letraset Star Wars & Sesame Street’s the Count!
Samurai Playset (sponsored link) —
This wonderful set of (cheap) Action figures is neither a play set nor are they Samurai, at least from my limited understanding of Japanese history. However, if someone hasn’t made a movie called “Samurai Ninja,” it’s the greatest missed opportunity next to the plaza in my town on “420 Green St” that does not have a pot store.
Star Wars Action Transfers by Letra Set (sponsored link)—
Here we got Presto Magix, which was incredible but in the UK, they got Letraset Action Transfers, which is like adding cheese and bacon to the combo. I am obsessed with these sets and didn’t even realize they had the Star Wars license, I need to go look at all of them. If they did a cantina one, I might explode into a blast of confetti & dog poo bags.
Arco Ghost Light Pen (sponsored link)
I’ve never noticed this item before, which surprises me, and I will now watch for it. It’s just pushing all my inner kid buttons.
Fleetwood Marvel Superheroes (sponsored link) —
So, if you’re looking at this and saying “That’s a Marx figure that a little kid painted,” I would respond with “You’re Right but also wrong.”
The Marx Marvel Statuettes were reissued by Fleetwood Toys in 1976. They are slightly smaller than their Marx counterparts and factory-painted. One of my first toy deals in the 1980s was with a guy (still on my friend’s list) who sold me his set of these, I wish I had kept them. They just cast Daredevil in red and painted his mouth.
Anyway, these do not pop up a lot, save for Spider-Man who was also issued in a grooming set(!) around the same time.
The seller has the figures listed individually, so the link sends you to his page.
Knickerbocker Sesame Street Talking Count doll (sponsored link)
My friend Courteny sent me this, and my “I wonder what it says?” joke did not land, so I’m putting it out there now *makes that “ta-dah” gesture with his hands*.
Also, I love the Count, which is in the same context as Kung Fu movies and breakfast foods. I have his back!

“I wonder what he says?”

Do you mean, the Count’s, favorite saying: “AH,…ha! ha!”?
I [love] the green, ghost pen.
I want one!
He does everything but count!
