5 Awesome Things on eBay this week
5 Awesome Things on eBay this week- Super Jrs, Dick Tracy, Marvel Heroes, Bootleg “V” and Sherlock Hemlock (4 real this week!)
(This post contains sponsored links AKA I get a tuppence guv’ner! *clicks heels*)
Bootleg pistol from V (sponsored link) —
I can’t tell you how much I want this, it’s going for exactly what’s in my Paypal. However, I need that money for Mego Meet. So please, kind people, take this deal away from me? Would ya?
Super Juniors Sleeping Bag (affiliate link) —
As a kid I just ABHORED the Super Juniors merchandise because that stuff was for Babies! However, my friend and frequent collab Chris Franklin’s affection for them lead to an awesome Toy-Ventures article. Also, I’ve softened on the Juniors in general, they’re not as cool as Muppet Babies but….
Dick Tracy Crimestoppers Kit (affiliate Link) —
This is one of those weird toys that looks like it’s from the 1940s but that was probably on purpose. I have a feeling the Dick Tracy and Lone Ranger licenses had a lot of grandpeople purchases and well, they are a viable toy demographic. Crap, I’ve done this kind of thing, my son never got into Adventures Team G.I. Joe *SOBS*
Vintage Marvel Comics Superheroes Shirts (Affiliate Link) —
I’m unsure if I’ve ever encountered these, but they’re brilliant! These probably were in the Heroes World catalog but I didn’t bother to check.
Vicma Sherlock Hemlock puppet (affiliate link) —
I saw one of these recently at SDCC, and like most things there, it’s more reasonable outside of those walls. Vicma was a Spanish Toy Company, and their character selection for Sesame Street Puppets was different than the US. They even made a Guy Smiley! This is what drew me to toy collecting—seeing what other countries got. I love it all!
Mego Meet is this Saturday and Sunday at Zolo Con in Warminster PA.

5 Awesome Things on eBay this week- Super Jrs, Dick Tracy, Marvel Heroes, Bootleg “V” and Sherlock Hemlock (4 real this week!)
Saw that Sherlock Hemlock puppet in the SDCC video and was absolutely fascinated with it. I had the roto-cast (or were they slush-cast?…) Ernie and Roosevelt Franklin that Child Guidance made and was devastated when then switched to all-fabric for the puppets before Count von Count was released, seeing Sherlock and Guy Smiley made me ponder what might have been… Seeing this photo finally made me realize what I couldn’t put my finger on before. The hair and mustache being blonde stood out for sure but I just realized that they should not have been sculpted. The hands also look “wrong’. They only have three fingers and a thumb, as they should, but the posing looks more like they were designed for a roto-cast doll and not a Muppet.
I want the bootleg-V pistol, too!
I better save money for rent, though. 🙂
Are the superhero, t-shirts, official? Why is the Hulk pulling a rabbit toy? Why is Captain America in a yellow suit?
My family had the pistol, from the Dick Tracy…”Crimestopper Playset.”
I think my sister said the pistol…+ maybe the playset, are maybe: from the 1960s-1970s, or maybe from the 1950s.
You find some cool stuff! 😀
