As a kid I thought these were the worst thing ever, I really detested “Baby stuff” and well, these had Baby in the title. I’ve softened on them since then but still don’t need to own them.

“Baron Karza, I am your father; you too, Force Commander!” I love Jeeg despite never having seen the show itself. This wonderful Magnetic figure was retooled for the Micronauts, and while I have a loose one, this boxed one is well priced and super tempting. What I’m saying is, please take this temptation away.

I vividly remember the 1978 Sesame Street Calendar, I even remember my dad having to borrow it to plan something for his business. I may have had some of the earlier ones but the memory has faded.

My love and admiration for the Filmation Space Sentinels is well documented (see video below); this is the closest we got to action figures. The seller also has Astrea, but sadly, no Hercules.

1975’s roster included Sesame Street, Classic Monsters, Planet of the Apes and the Waltons in some truly original items.

I would like that Sesame Street Play Set now.

I doubt these foam bendies survived.

I adore those Monsters…

The Planet of the Apes set Amsco produced is one of my favourite Planet of the Ape toys ever. The Walton’s set, not as much.

The Amsco Super Babies never warmed to me as a superhero loving kindergartener, I was well into Mego action figures by this point and Shazam’s inaccurate red hair bugged me even then. As an adult, I think they’re one of the most charming bits of 70s Superhero merch.


 I’m pleased top announce that things have almost returned to normal here and I’ll be updating the site again. Thanks to everyone for the kindness.

The 1970s was an absolute windfall of Marvel comics merchandise, the house of ideas sold out and we were better off for it. By 1976, the Marvel comics license was shared with dozens of toy manufacturers all vying for our parents hard earned money.  Here are top ten of the best Marvel comics toys from a time when a big screen Avengers movie would have starred Reb Brown and Lou Ferrigno.     10: Hasbro Richocet Racers
These had absolutely nothing to do with the comic books but who honestly cared? Ricochet Racers were rifles that shot cars featuring the likeness of Spidey and Cap. Joyous! 9: Remco Hulk Muscles
Most of the Incredible Hulk merchandise that bubbled out of the popularity of the CBS Television series made little to no sense, things like Hulk Helicopters and utility belts were clearly just lazily recycled Batman toys.
However, Remco did get super clever with this Hulk specific item which allowed kids to transform just like David Banner. You wouldn’t like Billy when he’s angry…  Read the whole list here.
