Planet of the Apes Week

Planet of the Apes Week

This next week will be devoted to all things simian. Iy you grew up in the 1970s (which I’m guessing much of my readership did) then you couldn’t have avoided “Apes Week” unless you didn’t have a TV or lived in a cave. We’ll spend the next five days looking at the garbage bags of merchandising produced for this landmark science fiction series, both logical and nonsensical.

Oh man, I am really excited about this! I am a real big Ape fan. Heck, I even own a copy of the Japenese version take on the film…

Brick Mantooth looks thrilled at the prospect of being "forced" to mate with Nova…

just want to say kudos on the title card. "Nova's" expression in particular made me laugh.

Man I loved this series! One Saturday a local theater showed them all, in order. That was a long day, but I loved it. We skipped the first one since we'd seen it several times on TV. It's the only time I've seen Battle for Planet of the Apes.

Always remember the local station showing these for the "late movie" on the weekends. My whole family stayed up and watched them together and made snacks !
