A Mego fan sent in this rare shot of a Planet of the Apes store appearance in the mid seventies, note the Mego Apes Play sets and the Addar model kits in the foreground.

I love that Darth Vader is clutching the kid’s throat in his hand. What happened, Lord Vader — force choke wasn’t working that day?

Speaking of the iron-on shirt, do they still do that these days? I had so many iron-on shirts in the 70s, and they were all awesome: John Denver, Shaun Cassidy and “Keep on Truckin'” to name but a few.
