The fine print you don’t see:

    Brandi or Dina $1.99
    (Barbie $12.99)

You know parents were trying to calm they’re screaming kids with crap like “Brandi and Dina are just as good as Barbie!” 🙂

OMG! I want the Planet of the Apes People! But aren’t they…apes? Ooooh, I wish I had Zira! I wonder if she was sold with a bottle of grape juice plus!

I guess the term “action figure” hadn’t really caught on yet. Oh well, I guess it’s better than calling them “Planet of the Apes dolls”!

This is from my neck of the woods, but I don’t remember Child World at the Nashua Mall. Maybe my Mom was smart and kept me away from it.
The “mall” is still there, but it’s not a mall anymore (you can’t go inside).

I recently 'borrowed' this image for a Salem NH FaceBook page. That mall was converted to a 'big box' strip mall about 13 years ago, and Childworld became a Christmas Tree Shops store.
