I've never seen any of these in my eBay trolling for pics for the Random Acts of Geekery or other blogs!
I'm fairly certain I had the spiderman one, but it could just be a false memory, since I had just about every spiderman toy I could find back then.
They were spongey and eventually the "skin" would flake off after a while, similar to the nerf footballs of the time.
Hey,
I am a new blogger with a new site http://www.aladdincostume.net/. Your site has content that I believe my visitors would like. I would appreciate it if we could exchange links. If interested shoot me an email at kenneth.elliott@marketassociate.com.
Thanks,

I don't remember these at all either.
Wow. These are pretty much the greatest things I have ever seen in my sad life. Thanks for the new obsession!
Yes, I have the Captain America! The art is slightly different on the produced piece…
Yes, they existed! The Sunday comic strip "Uncle Art's Funland" gave some "Planet of the Apes" balls away as prizes for their CONTEST ENTRY PUZZLES during 1975!
I have seen the Apes one on eBay before, but like most Apes items they hard to come across these days, and when you do, they cost a small fortune.
I had the Spiderman face ball, and they did have the flaky nerf skin. They were also not very dog-resistant.
