Charlton Heston Not Included
Ever since I first saw it in the 1976 Remco Catalog, I’ve been a little fascinated by the Earth Quake Tower Playset, which obviously was inspired by the many works of Irwin Allen and the disaster craze of the early seventies. It’s kind of morbid but if I had seen it as a kid, i’d have been all over it.
This.
Is.
AWESOME!!!!!
I want one NOW!!!!!
This is the best view of Earthquake Tower I’ve seen on the web. Thanks very much for posting it.
I wish I still had this playset. The best part about it was the flexi disc with sounds of people screaming and the building collapsing.
My brother and I played with this so much that we broke it. We also put our cat on top of it, started pushing the buttons that made the tower shake, and scream “Jump, kitty! Jump for your life!” We were bastards.
I had a friend who had one of those. It was sweet. I don’t remember screaming people, though. That’s pretty creepy.
I had to suffice with knocking down my girder-and-panel buildings.
I loved this thing.. My Mego Comic Action Heroes Superman could leap it in a single bound!
There’s no way you can convince me that jet fuel brought down Earth Quake Tower Playset…
You can clearly see in the blurry blown-up screen captures a rocket coming out of the helicopter.
WHOOPS! Wrong website!
Rich: ha! fantastic.
This was one of my favorite possessions as a kid. Then one day, I saw The Towering Inferno and well, you can guess what happened next!
They needed a "Poseidon Adventure" playset complete with capsized boat.
