Astro Simians with Pink Radios: A Lincoln Monsters Story

Astro Simians with Pink Radios:
A Lincoln Monsters Story
A few months ago, I started fiddling with parts and pieces for possible future Lincoln Monsters releases using existing tooling. It is a time-honoured tradition in toy companies, and I managed to craft a CustoMego figure I’ve wanted since the 4th grade, a green space Ape. Win/Win.
During one of our meetings, Frank mentioned that Mike from ZoloCon was game to work with us on an exclusive. As you can imagine, it’s tough to make something in those small quantities; another obstacle was the timing, which was almost impossible. However, I offered the guys a crude photo of my concept, which they thought was worth pitching.

Todd took the crude concept and turned it into a professional-looking, finished product, complete with box art, allowing Frank to pitch the idea to Mike at Zolo (a known fan of Monkeys in Space) while Jason negotiated with the factory, and we went from talk to factory-finished figures in less than 3 months.
Shots from the Factory:

The happy surprise came with this factory shot. Not only is it amazing to see the final product, but Jason had made the brilliant decision to make their communicators pink, in a tribute to Lincoln’s original Space Man, Mr. Rock. I wouldn’t have thought to ask that, and I’m so happy that he did; it’s just the perfect little touch.

Also happy to announce “Astro Simians” will be an ongoing series from Lincoln Monsters, while Commander Zol will be a Zolo exclusive; he’s not the only alien primate we plan to unleash on the planet in 2026.
I hope you enjoyed this behind-the-scenes look at our process. We are a small organization, but we are all marching on the same path, and this fantastic bit of teamwork is what keeps me going these days.
More on our second wave of 8″ Figures and the Mini-Monsters in the coming weeks. Thank you for all your support.
