Chutes Away!
Gabriel’s Chutes Away was one of those games I often requested but never received. It’s pre video game functionality is something we don’t see much anymore.

That's an expensive toy for back then…
Ka-ching! Memory alert! Brian, you've done it yet again. Found a toy that triggered a memory from the deep recesses of my (deranged?) mine. This has happened at least half dozen times on this website. Bravo man, thanks!
I only barely remember this.
but, speaking of pre-video game functionality. I remember having a battery-powered flying-a-spacehip scroller game that was fully mechanical. about the size of a hardcover book, it had a scrolling paper field of stars, planets and asteroids and a little plastic spacehip you steered on a levered steering wheel.
Man, it made the LED football games seem like high-tech!
@JohnIII: We've got to come up with a word for that, as it happens so much.
You got it arknobey. I'll work on it. And you know what? That scrolling game you had, I believe I had too. I'd have to see a picture of it to be sure, but I think so.
Let's see, a Stallion moment? A 70's moment? I know, a my-life-was-so-much-better-then moment? LOL

My experience exactly. Sigh.
I had this game! I loved it! Much better than flight-simulator video game…
I had a neighbor who had this game. Didn't Dick van Dyke do the TV commercial for it?
