5 Awesome Things on eBay this week
Imperial Toys Buck Rogers Pencil Toppers store displays (eBay Link) –
As an acolyte of Rack Toys and Buck Rogers, these are….chef’s kiss. A wonderful time capsule to dime stores, I absolutely love these. I also predict this is possibly one of very few times I’ll ever see these.
A complete set of Marx Monsters (eBay Link)–
The Marx Monsters are some of the coolest Monster toys produced in the 1960s and their legacy lives on in the form of countless reproduction series, mainly from Mexico. I really adore this mega pack and the term “Festival of Terror” sounds like a Paul Naschy movie I haven’t seen…
Complete set of Arco Space Wars figures (eBay link)-
Brace yourself but these are Star Wars Knock offs, I know, they’re really subtle. Honestly I don’t know how Arco and Woolworth escaped George’s wrath. The price on this light may be a bit high and I’m sure you can track them down for a little cheaper. I posted this mainly to showcase a complete set.
Marvel Superheroes figures by PPC (eBay Link) –
After Mego and before Mattel, the Marvel Superheroes license went to Processed Plastics, makers of sandbox toys. I remember the Heroes world ad for these and assumed they were pocket heroes. I’m glad I didn’t experience that disappointment as a kid but I still think these figures are insanely cool.
Edai Grip of Mighty Jack (eBay Link) –
As much as I love Edai Grip, my love for this is largely based on the MST3K episode about it. There isn’t much to not love about the movie Sandy Frank cobbled together from a cool looking TV series.
Do you miss toy collector magazines?
That’s why we created Toy-Ventures magazine, an old-school print publication dedicated to vintage toys from the 1960s to the 1990s. Each issue is packed with never before seen images and information written by some of the top collectors. We’ve got nine issues and climbing; please check our page here or visit our store.
The Mego Museum News has rebranded into the Super Collector Newsletter! Encompassing more from sites like PlaidStallions and more. Check it out even if you don’t collect Mego figures.
The PlaidStallions Polyester Pals have arrived and come in green and orange. Be the first kid in the sandbox with our Podcast mascots!
Our latest book is “Knock-Offs: Totally Unauthorized Action Figures” a love letter to cheeky copyright-infringing toys. You can get this new book via the PlaidStallions Shop, On Amazon (Affiliate Link) or eBay (eBay Link)

Pod Stallions is based on our podcast and is one of the most fun groups on Facebook. Toys, Comics, Movies, TV, it’s all up for grabs, and remember, folks, you keep the glass! If you like our show, then you have found your tribe.
Mego Knock Off Headquarters– The leading group discussing 70s Dime store knock-offs and bootleg action figures, we talk vintage toys and not others. We know the difference between Astro Apes and Action Apeman. It’s a fun group where we talk about Lincoln Monsters, AHI, Mighty Gary, Tomland, Bogi, Demo Man, Mortoys, and other generic greats.
