5 Awesome Things on eBay this week
Baskin Robbins Pink Bubblegum sign (eBay Link) –
Talk about stumbling onto something. I found this looking for toy stuff, and it immediately transported me to my local Baskin and Robbins, which was luckily in the “bike ride” vicinity. I occasionally got this flavour (I was pretty committed to chocolate chip though), but it represents childhood and my abuse of the tasting spoon policy in general. The seller has a stack of these, and trust me, I want to paper my walls with them. The irony? Ice Cream causes me great pain.
Bootleg Buck Rogers Star Fighter (eBay link)
Sometimes, a bootleg version is actually really well-made and cool. I present exhibit A, I’d love to see if this could house a figure. I may need it if that’s the case….
Glasslite CHiPs set (eBay Link)–
Okay, so this auction ended early, but I kept this in because, for the life of me, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before. That’s saying a lot, I’ve obsessed over Mego for most of my life. So when I see something like this foreign wonder, I must salute it. It always makes me wonder, “What else haven’t I seen?”
Astro Apes Inflatables (eBay Link) –
Astro Apes are a ridiculous series of Mego Planet of the Apes Knock-Offs. These weird little inflatables are also part of the series, I don’t know what kids were supposed to do with them but by the same token, I would have bought these as a kid.
Incredible Superhero shirt from the 70s (eBay Link)—
This is gorgeous, I always liked these comic strip-type shirts as a kid. The art on this is really interesting as well. One of these days I’d like to catalog all of these into one glorious post. Someday…
