The Inter-Changables were made using the Micronauts tooling that was retained after Mego Corp folded. These rolled into town just as I was “Supposed” to stop caring about toys (didn’t stick), and it’s a whole “thing’ with me now. I stared at these things for almost 20 years, always finding an excuse, and now it’s as if none of them survived.

I love goofing on vintage belt buckles, especially when they’re for characters not known for their fashion sense. Ol’ Purple Pants is what we like to call our “best case scenario” on the “Goof-O-Meter” I built for my 7th-grade science fair. Yeah, I failed. Why do you ask?

As a kid, I really wanted Condorman to be a movie like Superman, where the hero was taken seriously. Nope, it was mainly a spy spoof that the world didn’t order. I never totally got over that, so I mostly lament the ice cream flavour. It’s also kind of weird how this mask has an “Eyes Wide Shut” vibe going on. That mask might prove a bit of a distraction at an orgy…

The Inter-Changables confused me back in the day. They came out within a few years of Mego’s death, and they were clearly the same molds but in weird colours…. I got a bunch. MIcronauts were/are one of my all time favourite things in life and this was a chance to prolong the kick. (It’s all about the kicks, man!) Plus, the local Toys-R-Us had a bunch of them.
