1981 Toys R Us catalog – Mego- Remco-
Toys R Us is not what it used to be. This flyer from December 1981 is a time capsule of the chain in its heyday. It is also a great look at what we could have expected under the tree, Barbies, Glamour gals, Atari games, Remco Monsters and Mego Superheroes.
Mego Superheroes and Remco Monsters (new for 1981) will forever make my heart go “pitter-patter”.
The cosmic clipper is a well-loved model kit by AirFix.
Toys R Us spokesgiraffe Geoffrey was no stranger to merchandise.
Kenner Glamour Gals were a pretty big deal in 1981.

I have found that there is a toy From 1981 that was in A 1981 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade commercial that doesn’t exist other than the catalog, they commercialize it several time but other than that and the catalog I can’t find it anywhere, even emailed the companies that bought the main company out can’t find anything about it.
Ideal 1981 Gettin’ Pretty Beauty Boutique and Cosmetic kit.
I have pictures of the catalog and watched the YouTube video on it but no one seems to remember it.
