Action Figures and Dolls in the 1978 True Value Catalog

No better snap shot as to what was on the public's mind than by looking at this Catalog page. From the Mego Micronauts to budding Kenner Star Wars line, everything was getting a sci fi flavor.

Oddly enough, Barbie was relocated to the Action Figure page probably due to the Electronic toyws getting more space, True Value was alos apparantly offering you one Hardy Boy. "Get your Parker Stevenson elsewhere kid!"

Stretch Octopus was a cutesy poo cousin to Stretch Armstrong. It's weird to see Western toys such as the Lone Ranger being mingled with "Me too" Sci Fi toys that would soon dominate the aisles.
