Electronic Toys in the 1978 True Value Catalog

The burgeoning electronic toy market combined with a renewed interest in Sci Fi created two memorable toys in 1978, MB's StarBird an electronic space craft and Schaper's Tobor a remote controlled robot. Both items were heavily TV advertised along with games such as Simon. This was just the beginning for this market as we all know.

I added this hobby page to show two other new items for 1978, Monogram's "BattleStar Galactica" line proved to be very popular with modellers and Mattel brought back the creepy crawlers complete with a safer version of the Thingmaker.
