Our focus this week is the incredible Planet of the Apes Adventure Playset by Amsco (A division of Milton Bradley) and these awesome 3D environments are entirely made of corrugated cardboard and hours of fun.

The folks at Amsco clearly had a lot of fun designing these because they are loaded with Easter eggs and nods to both the movies and the television series, it’s one of the coolest Apes toys ever made!

Instead of looking at a single toy, I thought I’d share my collection of merchandise from the 1970s tv classic “Kung Fu”. There wasn’t a ton of merchandise for the show but there is plenty of neat stuff like lunchboxes, figurines, viewmasters, and even comics!

The post Toy-Ventures 23: Star Trek Utility Belt by Remco appeared first on PS.

The subject of this weeks Toy-Ventures is one of the coolest and most underrated action figure lines of the 1970s, the “Metal Man” series by Zee Toys (AKA Zylmex). 


The Metal Man line had no TV advertising, no print campaign but thanks to its excellent design and timing (arriving at the same time as the Micronauts and Star Wars) it ran well into the 1980s and never added a single figure. We discuss the line’s charms and it’s ongoing popularity with collectors and look at my meager collection.
