I’ve never heard of this weird cross promotion between the Sweathogs and Dr. Pepper! I love the art on this. Also Lawrence Hilton Jacobs is an underrated actor IMHO.

From a 1984 Toy Industry publication, we have this excellent ad for Street Hawk, which ABC was banking on being the next Knight Rider (narrator: “It wasn’t.”) However, I tuned in every week, and so did a lot of kids, so we mourned some of the cool toys they had in the pipeline. Kenner Knight Rider and Street Hawk in 1985 Palitoy Catalog-

As a fan of the short-lived television series “Street Hawk,” I was excited to discover some unproduced toy items hidden in the pages of this 1985 Palitoy/Parker Brothers catalogue.  The series launched that year in the US and would be cancelled after 13 episodes.

Kenner, we already had a toy hit with Knight Rider (see above), which Street Hawk was definitely patterned after and swept up the rights.

Kenner did manage to get the Motorcycle to store shelves but the action figures and playsets would not make it to the market. For a sample of what that would have looked like, this seller has the Street Hawk Norman Tuttle prototype. 

The planned Kenner Street Hawk figures didn’t come to fruition but thanks to Play Skool  in India and Glasslite of Brazil, we did get an “O Ring” Jessie Mach and Street Hawk.

Sure, it’s $30 for a piece of paper but it insures “FUN AND HAPPINESS EVERY DAY!” For that, I’d even wear this tie every day.

Bruce Lee Black Velvet painting (eBay Link) —

I got lost in a sea of black velvet paintings this week, and while I debated this amazing Kenny Rogers VS this Pink Panther on the toilet, this incredible tie breaker round house kicked it’s way onto the scene. This could only scream “1974” more if he had an Ape mask on.

Fonzie AM Radio (eBay Link) —

I have never seen this wonderful thing before. The artwork is fantastic!

Letraset Universal Task Force set (eBay Link) –

Letraset is very similar to what us kids called “Presto Magix” but they went into incredible tangents. This set, meant for children, looks very Heavy Metal influenced and well, I’d have been all over this at 9.

EBAY LINK : LAND OF THE LOST WILDERNESS CAMPFIRE SET Well, this kind of makes sense in the Rack Toys universe, considering Marshall, Will, and Holly were on a rafting trip. It is a little strange that their tents say “Land of the Lost” but I’ll let it slide.

EBAY LINK V 45 and HOLSTER V is one of my favourite Sci-Fi properties ever and even though I know this gun is generic, the card has Marc Singer and Faye Grant on it! Instant purchase!

EBAY LINK Star Trek 3 Erasers Star Trek 3 got some interesting merchandise, these erasers by Diener (Who was the Cadillac of rubber erasers) are kind of hilarious. I want to rub out my mistakes with William Shatner’s head.

EBAY LINK Street Hawk Binoculars Set One has to imagine that these started hitting stores just as the show had been canceled and it probably didn’t matter an iota. 

EBAY LINK Bananas Splits set Like a lot of Gen-X kids I loved me the splits but I never saw and merch because i was watching them in syndication because I wasn’t even alive when it was canceled. So I love discovering all the weird Rack Toys it inspired.
