1975 Sci-Fi Merchandise Catalogue – Star Trek – Planet of the Apes

I recently found this wonderful relic of early fandom from 1974. It mainly features Star Trek and Planet of the Apes items for mail orders. I’m too young to remember STREK Enterprises but my youth was filled with such catalogues and I can certainly see myself filling out the order form as a kid.

Planet of the Apes Model Kits Catalog

The Addar Planet of the Apes model kits arrived in 1973, and wow, did they kick off a licensing explosion.

AMT Star Trek Model Kits

These kits were EVERYWHERE when I was a kid. AMT Star Trek seemed to dominate every toy store, including local variety stores and cigar stores. I probably had them all at one point, completely ruined by a lack of skill and patience. I got there eventually, but wow, that road was paved with many swears.

When I finally got to Cons as a teen in the 1980s, buttons were a big deal. I doubt many were officially licensed, but we didn’t seem too bothered by it. I’ll take a “Star Trek Lives” bumper sticker.
