I'm with wee67. I had no idea of course at the time. Heck, I didn't know George Michael was gay when I was in high school circa '88-92.

I thought the village people wanted us to know about the Navy and the YMCA! No wonder my uncle who was in the Navy, didn't like the song but couldn't really tell me why, when I played it on my record player as a kid.

estly had NO idea what the Village People were about when I was an innocent. I just knew that as a young man, there was a place that I could go 😉

A kid choosing between these costumes is like the time Homer was worried whether Bart would choose Twinkies or Hostess Sno Balls for dessert.
