This toy spy kit was sold only in the UK. I got it for Christmas 1975. Even though the brief case was made of cardboard, it was a great toy. Today it goes for over $700.00 on the web.

I remember the "spy kits" + cowboy kits + similar weapon + equipment kits, in USA toy stores, in the late 1990s. There was a big "no toy firearms" movement, in parent's movements, back then.

So, a lot of toy companies would make "spy kits" or other kits, and replace the gun(s) with bayonets + grenades, in those kits.

Better to let your kids "play" knife or grenade someone, than to play that they're shooting a toy pistol at someone?
How silly was that? Hee hee!

It must really suck being a kid today! No plastic guns with silencers, no play ciggies, no fun! Even as a girl, I would have killed for this set when I was a kid! Super cool!

Man I wanted one of these so bad! Especially a pistol with a silencer! I always thought that was the coolest.

As to the cigarettes, they also sold us candy cigs, so none of that would fly today.

How did I miss out on this gem? I would've loved to have had this as a kid! I was always envious that my brother had a Secret Sam briefcase back in the 60s. I don't know what happened to it. I wish he had stored it away for me to play with in the 70s, but I guess brothers don't think that far ahead.
