Archie Bunker Patches (sponsored link) —

I grew up in a post-All in the Family world. I was way too young for the show when it first launched (fun fact: I once thought this was the Archie from the comics all grown up), but I swear Mad Magazine never stopped with parodies and the reruns? Oi vey. These patches from ’72 are a prime example of how this show dominated when it first appeared. 

When I started collecting toys in the 1980s, I visited the backrooms of many dusty variety stores where the Archie Bunker card game was always present, right next to the Bionic Man game.

I’ve opined about these Nomura Star Blazers action figures at great length here and while the seller has the two main characters, getting a Desslock (Dessler) figure is really super duper difficult. I know it took me years to track him, Mark Venture and Captain Avatar down.

For the person who has everything, the original Stretch Armstong prototype. Now you might be tempted to take a big old bite out of a stretch like I was when I was 7, but the 50-year-old corn syrup will definitely kill you.

Man, this one would disappoint me as a kid, desperate for ANYTHING Battle of the Planets at the time.

I honestly do not remember seeing animated McDonaldland characters before but I love this very early 70s take.

‘Because our last lil’ mini for the 70s Saturday Morning preview went so well, we thought we’d give it another go. Only this time: a supercut of Japanese Toy Commercials from the 70s! We figured 18 minutes of brilliant and insightful commentary, and voila! Another Pod Stallions masterpiece to deliver to the masses. Um, except, as we do, we got a little carried away and, thru no fault of our own, started discussing things barely related to the video…so we kept them in. (Hopefully nothing too incriminating). EBAY LINK Starzinger-SpaceKeteers Helmet-  The animated antics of “Force Five” didn’t hit the Toronto market until I was way too old to enjoy it but I really remember watching it on Channel 47. Spaceketeers was the one show that wasn’t somehow connected to the Shogun Warriors, I haven’t thought of it in a long while but my friend David sent me this link and it all came flooding back.

EBAY LINK Buck Rogers Presto Magix set– I don’t have this one, this will be a problem for me.

EBAY LINK Batman Waterblaster Shield– Jotastar was a UK company that made a lot of weird rack toys and well, this is one of them. These are shields that squirt water and you can get your choice of DC characters who don’t have shields. 

EBAY LINK Corgi Joker Mobile– I had this as a kid and I really liked it. It never seemed weird that a villain like the Joker would advertise, it seems exactly what he would do.

EBAY LINK Nomura Yamato/Star Blazers Playset- I have previously dubbed this the coolest playset ever on an episode of Toy-Ventures and you know what? I still stand by it.
