While I have no doubt the show was a hit with teenagers, I’m not sure if model car building male teenagers were the ones that would appreciate minature versions of Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy inside their van.

Vans of course, were completely integral to mystery solving teams during the entire decade thanks to stringent regulations created by the Ford administration’s “Clue Club” act.

1978 Collegeville Halloween Costume Catalog

With it being October, I tend to get a little nuts with the Halloween costumes especially my favourite company Collegeville.
1978 was a fun year for Collegeville, sure they didn’t have Star Wars but did Ben Cooper have the Hardy Boys? Not a chance. The 1978 Collegeville catalog is exploding with characters and creations that made the 1970s great including Jaws, Grizzy Adams, Farrah Fawcett, Superjoe, TV Super teams The Osmonds, Laverne and Shirley, Starsky and Hutch and the Monster Squad, just to name a few. It’s like some weird TV special that probably happened…

Hardy Boys by Kenner

The 1977 ABC TV series made the then fifty year old characters of Joe and Frank Hardy into super styling studs of the late seventies. These teen heart throbs didn’t go unnoticed by the good people at Kenner (seeing as they had more than their fair share of success with another ABC series) and in 1978, these two action figures appeared.

Shaun Cassidy comes with a guitar, woooo!

Parker Stevenson gets a radio backpack, which is neat but not as cool as a guitar.
