<span style="color: #343434; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15pt;">Toronto, ON, Canada (Dec 12, 2013) – Following his new animated web series, Canada’s own iconic champion, Captain Canuck gets the action figure kids have been looking for since his debut in 1975 with a new release from Odeon Toys.&nbsp;</span><span style="color: #343434; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 15pt;"><u></u><u></u></span></div>

<span style="color: #343434; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15pt;">He&#8217;s been on a postage stamp, even the cover of Time, but for decades, Superman had one thing over Canada&#8217;s Superhero… an action figure. Canadian toy maker Odeon toys in creative partnership with EMCE toys and Big B Comics are righting that wrong. The 8 inch tall figure which will retail for $24.99 will have the look and feel of a toy released when the first issue of Captain Canuck, by creator Richard Comely, hit news stands in 1975.</span><span style="color: #343434; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 15pt;"><u></u><u></u></span></div>

<span style="color: #343434; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15pt;">&#8220;We were looking for an iconic Canadian character for our first release, and I can think of none better than Captain Canuck, &#8221; said Sam Noir, project coordinator at Odeon. <span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I&#8217;ve admired Tim&#8217;s style for some time and was happy he wanted to work with me on something. I offered him this project because I knew he&#8217;d do it justice and he totally knocked it out of the park and&nbsp;exceeded&nbsp;my expectations here.&nbsp;</span></div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I was hoping to have the figure out before Christmas however I&#8217;ve had a rather harsh lesson on chemicals and it&#8217;ll take me until new year to fix the problem (boo). However, if you are looking for a unique gift this holiday season&nbsp;<a href="http://www.timbaron.com/store.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tim has graphic novels for sale</a>.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Micronaughty will likely land in January 2013, limited edition of 10. More on this and other figures soon.</span></div>

So if you&#8217;re in the area, please stop by this Saturday and say hi.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">&nbsp;Micronaughty will likely be the first figure released in the series, it will feature card artwork by the great&nbsp;<a href="http://www.timbaron.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tim Baron</a>. I had a lot of help on these little labours of love and I can&#8217;t go without thanking Sean Sansom, Paul from <a href="http://www.lasermego.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Laser Mego</a> for the fantastic reel to reel chest piece and the gang at Cast-A-Way toys for the great advice.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Next up will be &#8220;Polyestar: The Ultimate Man of Pleasure&#8221;, many thanks to Ed Leung and Stephen Leach for design help on the graphics on this one</span>.

<div style="text-align: center;">
<img decoding="async" alt="brick Mantooth as Micronaughty" src="http://www.odeontoys.com/images/polyestar1.jpg" width="450" /></div>
<p></p>
<div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Polyestar features a hand sewn outfit by Theressa Chapko and under his jacket, you&#8217;ll find the true secret&nbsp;behind his powers. It&#8217;s closely guarded and I owe it all to mad genius David Lee at <a href="http://www.castawaytoys.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Cast-A-Way</a>.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Verdana;">I have several other releases planned for Project Mantooth that I&#8217;ll reveal in the coming months, each will be limited and will get weirder and weirder.</span></p>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">More updates for these will be posted on the <a href="http://www.odeontoys.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Odeon Toys Website</a> in the coming weeks as well as the return of the <a href="http://www.odeontoys.com/supercollector.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Megomuseum Super Collector</a>.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Project Mantooth will be a series of limited Edition Brick figures that are based on iconic characters of the 1970s. They&#8217;ll be new designs but quite familiar, these will be limited to ten of each figure (mostly cause I think that&#8217;s the most I&#8217;ll sell of these) Much more on this later.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It&nbsp;will be a loooooong time until I break even on this whole affair but stuff like this just makes it worth it.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">That plus the site now has a link to the store where you can order Brick and his alter ego The Mego Museum Super Collector (which should be back in stock soon), Playsets, vehicles, upcoming&nbsp;comic book&nbsp;adventures and much more. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">this is one of these occasions. My pal Steve has whipped up a series of fashions for the Brick Mantooth doll. Named &#8220;Man Mates&#8221; (after the classic <a href="http://plaidstallions.blogspot.com/search/label/man%20mates">JC Penney series of leisure suits</a>) each represents a different, authentic 70s outfit. Honestly, he not only gets the concept, I&#8217;m a little worried about him.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Above is &#8220;<strong>Purple Heyyys</strong>&#8220;, the first of many, finely crafters, &nbsp;limited edition Brick Mantooth outfits to come out and there&#8217;s more.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" src="http://www.plaidstallions.com/images/tl/manmates1.jpg" /></div>
<div align="center" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The very talented <a href="http://www.scottcadams.com/">Scott C Adams</a> whipped up this fantastic packaging art for the series.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Look for more &#8220;Mantooth Variants&#8221; in the coming months, including a few I&#8217;ve cooked up on my own.</span></p>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It is with great pride that I </span><a href="http://odeontoys.3dcartstores.com/-Brick-Mantooth-Action-Figure_p_11.html"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">open up&nbsp;the ordering for the Brick Mantooth doll</span></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Some important information:</span></div>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">&nbsp;This is just for Brick,&nbsp;<u>it&nbsp;does not include the&nbsp;Mego Museum Supercollector outfit</u>, those will be back in stock in mid August at the same URL. (The mini museums are a pain to make)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This is the first batch, if I sell out, it does not mean I am out of the figure, just out of assembled sets. <strong>Every one will get one, the boxes in my garage assure you</strong>.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">These are coming from Canada and take anywhere from 5 to 10 business days, Canada Post doesn&#8217;t work weekends either.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Verdana;">The doll comes as shown, you may or may not have to dress him yourself. This Depends&nbsp;on&nbsp;whether&nbsp;your set was assembled by&nbsp;Gallant (my friend, who lovingly dressed each one) or Goofus (obviously me, who was getting tired and hungry by this point).</span></li>
</ul>
<p></p>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><strong><u>It doesn&#8217;t have to end there&#8230;.</u></strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Once you get the doll, it doesn&#8217;t have to end with you placing it on your desk. You&#8217;ve just opened up a world of opportunity in the world of Mego customizing. There are literally thousands of ways you can now personalize Brick. Here are a few online retailers that sell clothing and other bibs and bobs to make Mantooth completely yours:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><a href="http://www.drmego.com/">Dr.Mego.com</a>&#8211; We wouldn&#8217;t have this figure without Dr Mego and he makes a lot of cool stuff.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><a href="http://www.castawaytoys.com/">Castaway toys</a>&#8211; Boots, belts, jumpsuits, even vintage Action Jackson sets that will fit Brick.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><a href="http://www.classictvtoys.com/">Classic Tv Toys</a>&#8211; Lots of custom fodder including Brady bunch clothes</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">If you still can&#8217;t quite find that special outfit, check out the <a href="http://www.megomuseum.com/community">Megomuseum forums</a> as there are several Mego scale tailors for hire.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><strong><u>More Mantooth Coming Soon:</u></strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">As with any toy line, there will be lots of fun extras coming down the pike</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><img decoding="async" src="http://didadisplays.com/reboot/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/brick_playset2.jpg" width="450" /></p>
</div>
<ul>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My friend Scott at</span><a href="http://megomuseum.com/community/showthread.php?p=780832#post780832"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> Dida displays has a Brick Mantooth Bachelour pad set coming out</span></a><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Also, my pal Steve is hard at work with several 70s fashions for Brick that are just wonderful and fun. Look for my own weird&nbsp;limited edition Brick figures&nbsp;to arrive in September when I unveil &#8220;Project Mantooth&#8221;.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"> <strong><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><u>Show us you Brick!</u></span></strong></div>
</ul>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://plaidstallions.com/reboot/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/showbrick.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" border="0" height="400" src="http://plaidstallions.com/reboot/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/showbrick.jpg" width="255" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I want this to be interactive, so if you buy a Brick and alter it in any way (like Brick 5 here) please send me some shots. Take him on a trip? I wanna see! Did you puppy eat him? <a href="mailto:brick@plaidstallions.com">Send it down</a> (but you&#8217;re a very bad boy&#8230;oh I can&#8217;t stay mad at you&#8230;)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><strong><u>Lastly, Thanks to:</u></strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">I know I&#8217;m rambling but&nbsp;thanks and props have to go to the people who made this happen:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Scott Sansom (Sculptor), Scott Adams (Art and Design), Steve Stolk (Printing), Paul &#8220;Dr Mego&#8221; Clarke (our man in China), Steve Moore (Outfit prototyping), Ed Leung (doll dresserer), my wonderful wife and children who seem to ignore that their father is&nbsp;insane.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">And many thanks to you, the reader, for supporting or at least enjoying this mad idea that clearly has gone too far.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

I put Brick&#8217;s production into the careful hands of Paul &#8220;<a href="http://www.drmego.com/">Dr Mego</a>&#8221; Clarke and I gotta say, he treated my brain child as one of his own. When I first saw this, I got giddy. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">No better time to share this photo&nbsp;than now, seeing as <u>Brick is no longer in China but in the US of A</u>. As soon as the Canadian mail strike ends (which as a collector&nbsp; is KILLING ME) , I&#8217;ll have him here, ready to assemble. The first 100 or so will be available exclusively through <a href="http://www.odeontoys.com/">Odeon toys</a> and the <a href="http://www.megomuseum.com/">Megomuseum</a>. The rest of the run will be available through many fine &#8220;etailers&#8221; that have expressed interest bless &#8217;em.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">There will be a lot of fun side projects with this figure, some oddball ideas that&nbsp;are coming to light thanks to a&nbsp;cadre of talented friends. I also hope folks who buy them customize them and share the results with me. Stay tuned for more in the coming days. </span></div>
