eBay is often a valuable resource for pop-culture historians. The Mattel Cylon Raider and Colonial Viper are still at more-or-less reasonable prices but it's obvious there is no way a "regular" 3 3/4 inch action figure would fit in the cockpits. That makes these two a bit of a let-down. Not only are the ships from the "other" franchises, they're not compatible, either.

That was always the nice thing about the Hasbro and Kenner. GI Joe was cool piloting an X-Wing fighter and IG-88 looked absolutely terrifying behind the controls of the HISS Tank.

Why is the "space utility belt" toy set NOT marked as Star Trek toys?
Those are [obviously] Star Trek toys! *shrugs*

I had that plush Spider-Man doll in the upper-left corner. I slept with it, and one morning I woke up to see that one of his eyes came off. I cried so loudly, my parents came into my room to see what was the matter.

For me, the Mego Super Heroes are old pals who came for a visit and never went away. 40+ years later and they still fascinate me.
The large Battlestar Galactica figures I got into more recently, but I remember getting the 4" Cylon in 1979 at a $0.50 clearance price. I still have it with the laser gun.

I had the Sonic Fazer and the Cosmo Ray Gun (non-Galactica version), and they were both awesome. I remember every sound they made to this day.

The Sonic Fazer had an "amplify" setting which worked like a bullhorn (it had a microphone on the back of the gun), but I discovered if I cupped my hand over the mic it caused high pitched feedback which was a much more effective weapon that the regular sounds it made. :)
