I had this toy and loved it. It was the coolest space gun ever, with multiple sound settings. I forgot about the Han/Luke hybrid on the box though. I think I still have the gun, but it didn't work last time I tried it.

I got this toy at around 9 yrs old for christmas. I played with it always and it was a durable toy compared to todays crap. I boxed up alot of my old toys in my late teens and kept them with me to this day. I opened up a box of old toys last year and now that I have 3 little ones of my own its cool to hand them my toys and let them play to their hearts desire. This toy still works and still looks great to this day, they play with alot...a testament to how well toys used to be made. If I get them them anything at a store these days its made in china and if were lucky lasts a couple weeks before breaking.
rootleafdinner@yahoo

I would have went to my grave not remembering I had this as a kid until I saw it here. WOW! The box and wire was just for the store display. I remember this thing made all kinds of different cool sounds depending on where you slid the red tab on the side! Oh wow... I can't believe it.

This is totally new to me. What I want to know is 1) why it really doesn't look all that cool and 2) why it doesn't seem to be sized for a kid's hand. Edison capguns were totally sized for kids hands, but this thing looks like it's got an a adult-sized grip and 3) why am I over-analyzing a little-known toy from the 1970s?

That box was actually a store display.. I remember it well!

I had this nifty weapon, it made the coolest sounds and even had an amplifier and microphone built in. If you cupped your hand over the mic you could make an annoying feedback sound, perhaps the neatest feature of all! :)

I don't remember this toy but I like the box it comes in. Is that gun-shaped opening where you store the gun when you're not shooting the Han Solo look-alike on the box? Also, what's with the cord? Does that mean you have to drag the box around everywhere you take your gun? It seems kind of cumbersome.
