My Mazinga still lives in a crawlspace at my parents’ house; we bust him out for my 5-year-old to play with when we visit, which coincidentally will be happening this weekend (also planning to get out my Kenner Star Wars toys for him for the first time).

Ahhh, Mazinga... the only big Shogun that I owned as a kid. I'd kept him around for years and years, until he got crushed during a move.

Ooh, Mazinger! Never saw that here, but I did grow up as a fan of Goldorak (Grendizer), its sequel/spinoff, like most French speakers of my age. :)

Speaking of Goldorak, I wish I'd find a fansubbed version of the series, to see whether the references to Mazinger were removed from the French dub or the series barely made any references to the original series (the manga is much more closely linked).
