I see a little of the " Ambiguously Gay Duo " here as 2 x GI Joe's are pretty much forced into a vehicle made for only one but still enjoying the " Ride " . Was it true that Harvey Firestone was head of the GI Joe Vehicle Department in the early 70's ?

I got my first Joe around the same time Seventiesfan did, or maybe a year earlier. Mine was the Man of Action. Like Brian, my childhood was never the same after that. I used to stare at these ads for hours. I love the 3rd party vehicles on the first page. I also love how the copywriter called them the "Action Team" half way down the first page, even though they used the term "Adventure Team," just a few inches above. Obviously written by some schmo in a cubicle somewhere without the GI Joe passion.

To answer I, Warren's question...

It depends on how often you're forced to entertain the children of your parents' friends.

Some of those little SOBs would have stolen my bed if they thought it would fit it in their pockets. So yeah, the mummy's missing again... along with Joe's compase, machete/ sheath, the jewels, first aid kit, pith helmet, and paddle.

It could be this Anon's imagination, but the "valuable nose cone" sounds suspiciously like a nuke. Anyone else notice Joe is jumping into boiling hot lagoon waters wearing zero hand protection?

I got my first GI Joe (Air Adventurer) in 1971. I'm looking at him right now. How I wish that GI Joes would still cost $3.33 to $5.33. I paid a lot more than that on Ebay for my other Adventure Team figures. Many thanks for posting the ad.
