Knockoffs, bad representations, stuff that’s not QUITE a knockoff but comes almost infringingly close…. It made trips to the store exciting ‘cos you never knew what you’d find. I think of Star Wars back when the original film hit. They weren’t sure how to market it, so they put “Star Wars” on EVERYTHING. Led to some really odd things, Nowadays marketing seems way too controlled, so you don’t get too many fantastic also-ran products, or model vans with characters plastered on the side.
