Thing is, Ray Harryhausen’s beasties were usually brand new creations — satyr-legged Cyclops, two-headed rocs, the sorceress with a bird’s leg, etc. — so Columbia Pictures could have gone after them.

“Bad Genie” may be a lift from “Jack the Giant Killer”, stripped of his Irishness. “Man-Eating Skull” is just lazy. And “Fire-Eating Dragon” just careless.
