What better way to combat the end of Summer blues than to drop a new installment in what is one of my favorites, vintage toy store photos. A journey back to the days of oddly named department stores and independent mall toy stores and chains that are fondly remembered but sadly mostly gone.

I love this end cap of Kenner Bionic Woman merchandise, it was taken from a Kenner Employee's records.
This is a display from a place called "Toy Barn" in 1977, showcasing all the cool Ideal STAR TEAM and Shogun Warriors that took Star War's place that holiday season.
This shot from 1975 showcases all the amazing Space:1999 and Star Trek toys available, if you look around you can see some boxed Mego World's Greatest Superheroes including Mr Fantastic.
This display of Barbies and Osmond dolls is an unknown location but i'm going to guess it's 1977.
A nice Hot Wheel's display from the late 1970s, location unknown..
This is a Barbie display in a Korvette's store somewhere in NY. Not sure what the promotion is, some sort of free comb?.
This Mattel Preschool aisle is in a Two Guys toy store in NJ, this photo was taken May 5th, 1977.
This is a store called "playworlds" in Flushing New York, sometime in 1977.
This is Toyhouse, a store in the Chinook mall, Calgary Alberta in 1975. I love the display of Big Jim goodies in the window.

This is Bambergers in 1977, I like the Ken and Barbie picnic diorama..
This is a Montgomery Ward's manager standing beside a display of Kenner Star Wars Early Bird kits, the marketing of an envelope and a promise to children was big freaking news Christmas time.
