Most North Americans remember Big Jim being one of the more popular boy's lines of the early seventies but that's only half the story after cancelling the line in the US in 1976, Mattel found longer lasting success in Europe, where Big Jim would flourish until the mid ninetime eighties.
Congost was the distributer for Big Jim in Spain and in 1977 had already begun to change the line to suit the needs of European children, eventually Jim would be a pirate, a cowboy, a super spy and a futuristic Super hero.
